The Mt. Mansfield Academy (MMA) Postgraduate Program is designed to provide elite ski racers with an intensive training environment that maximizes their athletic potential. This program combines both academics and athletics in a multifaceted, comprehensive
package. The program will be sized no larger than 4-6 racers to maximize coach to athlete interaction.
Admission Requirements:- Application: Submission of athletic achievements, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.
- Interview: An interview with the admissions team to assess the applicant's fit for the program to include a review of athletic and academic goals.
- Athletic Evaluation: A coaches recommendation covering the applicant's skiing abilities and potential for growth is required.
Program Duration:- Full-Year Program: Starting in July and finishing at the end of May, providing continuous training and support throughout the year.
Athletic Program Overview:Rigorous on-snow training is combined with dry land conditioning, and comprehensive support to help athletes excel in their skiing careers.
Ski Training:- On-Snow Training: Daily training sessions at Stowe Mountain Resort, utilizing
world-class facilities and terrain.
- Southern Hemisphere Training: A 2-3 week training experience in the southern
hemisphere, offering the potential to compete in FIS races.
- Technical and Tactical Coaching: Personalized coaching focusing on technique
refinement, race tactics, and mental preparation.
- Competition Schedule: Participation in regional, national, and international races
to develop competitive experience and skills.
- Video Analysis: Regular video review sessions to analyze performance and identify areas for improvement.
Dry Land Training:- Strength and Conditioning: Customized strength and conditioning programs, including weightlifting, circuit training, and sports-specific drills.
- Endurance Training: Activities such as running, cycling, and hiking to build cardiovascular endurance.
- Flexibility and Recovery: Incorporation of yoga, stretching, and recovery
techniques to maintain peak physical condition.
Support Services:
